Janik Soysa

Management

Janik is an innovative leader in the oil & gas industry with more than 20 years experience in delivery management and organisational change for tier 1 companies and EPCM organisations.

Prior to his role at OGP, Janik worked with major organisations including BP, ExxonMobil, Shell and Qenos, successfully delivering multi-million dollar projects.

Combining specialist technical capabilities with excellent communication skills, Janik has also worked with large EPCM organisations including AmecZektin, Halliburton KBR Production Services, Worley Pty and Worley ABB.

With responsibilities for design and construction teams, Janik has extensive experience in the development of reporting requirements for both internal governance and external management reports using robust project control tools such as earned value and project schedule analysis.

Janik has successfully led design and project management teams at different stages of the engineering design process. He uses good commercial judgement when interfacing with suppliers, vendors and construction organisations coupled with strong decision making abilities when interacting with external organisations and government bodies.

Having worked in a wide range of workplace environments and with clients across different cultures, Janik is capable of delivering different management styles and solutions to successfully deliver the project at hand.

In his current role as Director for Management and Engineering at OGP, Janik brings extensive experience in leadership and delivery management in the oil & gas sector.

He has worked both locally and internationally through the various oil & gas phases, from upstream to downstream, leading multi-disciplinary teams of varied cultural environments.

Janik holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours from Swinburne University of Technology.

Gary Dagres

Supply Chain / Commercial Power Generation

Gary has more than 24 years experience in senior sales and management positions, Gary has extensive knowledge of the Australian power generation sector. He has particular expertise in marketing, business development, international trade, engineering, commercial contract management, construction management and procurement in the power generation and oil & gas sectors.

Gary has worked in major organisations including QCLNG, Tamar Valley Power Station and Shell Clyde Refinery. He has extensive experience in project management for significant constructing contracts and in business development for generation plant, petrochemical and engineering services.

Prior to his role at OGP, Gary was the Commercial Director at Maintain Power Pty Ltd with responsibilities for overall financial control, business planning and marketing for the business. He was also involved operationally in the commercial management for major projects, successfully delivering multi-million dollar projects.

Gary has specialist capabilities in procurement, claims resolution and cost control for projects in the power and processes industries throughout Australia and overseas.

Michael Wallace

Engineering & Construction

Michael has 22 years experience in the oil & gas industry, managing all phases of onshore processing plants, pipelines and offshore platforms. He is a confident leader in engineering and design and his knowledge of new technologies enables him to present greater value to clients for debottlenecking and rerating assets.

Prior to his role at OGP, Michael worked in a wide range of project management and engineering roles with major organisations including PetroVietnam, Exxon Neftegas, Caltex, BP, Shell, Esso, Mobil, Origin, Qenos, Basell, Maersk, BHP, DUKE Energy and Santos.

As Director for Technology for OGP, Michael is responsible for the project management and technical direction of projects to ensure that the most innovative solutions are implemented that generate cost savings for clients.

Michael’s expertise spans the full spectrum of upstream, midstream and downstream phases of projects and his technical capabilities allow him to offer complete lifecycle solutions, from design to construction and commissioning.

By combining his technical knowledge with many years of project management experience, Michael is able to identify and document potential risks and develop effective control strategies to minimise these. He works closely with clients to ensure that their project milestones are successfully achieved.

Michael works with clients to optimise their existing assets and maximise their opportunities for success by utilising his industry leading capabilities and deep technical knowledge.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong.

John Cheung

Business Transformation

John is passionate about helping organisations create more efficient business models with extensive experience in Business Transformation. The diversity of John’s experience and his ability to work collaboratively to achieve co-designed outcomes creates sustainable change for businesses.

With a naturally collaborative nature, John seeks to learn the key skills each person can bring to the table and how each person can add value. Business processes provide the direction, but it is the people that lead and drive organisational outcomes.

John is a qualified Engineer and Project Managed large infrastructure projects across mining, electricity generation and utility infrastructure projects. During his time as a Project Manager, John identified improvements and scope synergies that optimized commercial outcomes of his portfolio of projects.

John’s drive for efficiency and improved outcomes led him to becomes a transformation leader. Over the last five years, John has led a variety of transformations that reduced wastage in business processes that return sustainable value.

John holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Diploma in Project Management and is currently completing his MBA.

Chris Coppola

Principle Electrical Engineer

Chris is an Electrical Engineer with 20 years’ experience across water, oil & gas industry, mining and the solar industries, responsible for design, engineering and management across all phases of the project.  He is pragmatic and confident in engineering and design, able to conceptualize what is required and predict outcomes, thus providing maximum value to clients.

Prior to his role at OGP Group, Chris worked in a wide range of projects for major international consultancies on behalf of clients including BHP, Rio Tinto, Petronas, Santos, Origin Energy, Newcrest Mining, MMG and Kazakhmys.

As the Principle Electrical Engineer for OGP Group, Chris is responsible for the management and technical design and direction of all electrical related activities to ensure safety requirements have been met, innovative solutions are implemented and both short and long term economic and technical objectives are met for the Client.

By combining his technical expertise with many years of project experience, Chris is able to identify and document potential risks and develop effective control strategies to minimise these. He works closely with clients to ensure that their project objectives, designs and milestones are successfully achieved.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honours in Electrical Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and is a RPEQ accredited Engineer.
